The
rules of the United States Golf Association govern play
together with local rules adopted, from time to time, by
the Golf Committee.
HOURS
Generally
play will be governed by starting times assigned by the
Golf Pro Shop staff. Tee times may be made in person or
by phoning no more than seven days in advance.
With
the exception of Monday, the Golf Shop will open with clubs
and carts available at 8:30 weekdays April 1 through October
31 and at 7:30 Saturday, Sunday and holidays from Memorial
Day through Labor Day, and other times during the year at
9:OO daily. The course will close at dusk and the practice
areas one hour prior to dusk.
There
are no restrictions as to hours of play for Primary Members.
- Tuesday
mornings are reserved for ladies between the hours of
8:30 and 12:00.
- Saturday
mornings, Memorial Day and the 4th of July are reserved
for Primary Members between opening tee time and 1:00.
Sunday mornings are also reserved for Primary Members
between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00.
May
1 through Labor Day, weekend, and holiday play will be restricted
to threesome and foursomes between the hours of 8:30 a.m.
and 1:00 p.m.
GUEST
PRIVILEGES
Members
may invite a guest to play under the following conditions:
- Arrangements
must be made in advance by calling the Golf Professional.
- Persons
living within 50 miles of Guyan may play as a guest no
more than six (6) annually and are not to exceed one (1)
time per month in June, July and Aug, or on Saturday after
1 p.m. and holidays or Sunday after 2 p.m.
- Guests
living beyond 50 miles may play no more than six (6) times
annually.
- Immediate
family of members living within 50 miles may play six
(6) times annually.
- Additional
play may be considered by discretion of the Golf Committee.
- All
guests must register with the Pro Shop staff.
- All
guest fees will be charged to the member's account.
All
guests must be accompanied by a member.
- The
member assumes full responsibility for his guest(s) and
the actions thereof.
SLOW
PLAY POLICIES
- A
round of golf should take no longer than four (4) hours
and fifteen (15) minutes. Slow play will be policed by
the Golf Committee, Men's Golf Association and Pro Shop
staff.
- Please
be courteous to other golfers and either limit the time
spent at the Half-Way House or be willing to allow others
to play through.
GOLFING
DRESS CODE
Our
members and members of all outstanding clubs consider the
golf course to be a special place. They understand that
it is to be treated with respect and care. One of the ways
that we show respect for our club, for other members and
guests is in the way we dress for play.
APPROPRIATE
GOLF ATTIRE IS REOUIRED AT ALL TIMES.
- Gentlemen:
Golf shirts with collars, slacks, longer than mid-thigh
shorts, golf or soft soled shoes and NO JEANS This dress
code applies both to Senior & Junior Golfers.
- Ladies:
Sleeves or sleeveless blouses, skirts, longer than mid-thigh
shorts, golf or soft soled shoes. NO HALTER / TANK TOPS
and NO JEANS. This dress code applies both to Senior &
Junior Golfers.
GOLF
CARTS
Golf
carts are available for rental through the Golf Pro Shop
for the convenience of our members; their usage is subject
to weather and course conditions under the authority of
the Golf and Greens Committee with the advice and counsel
of the Grounds Superintendent. Rules governing cart usage
include, but are not limited to, the following:
- It
is the responsibility of each member to ascertain from
the golf staff, or other communications which from time
to time will be mailed or posted, where carts are to be
used and not used.
- Cart
paths should be used for all tee-to-green travel. Please
check at Pro Shop for daily cart restrictions.
- Carts
should be driven no closer than 30 feet to tees, bunkers
and greens except on cart paths where they exist inside
limits.
- Avoid
sudden starts and stops.
- Each
cart is limited to two riders and two sets of clubs (with
the exception of4-baggers).
- Carts
are to be used be licensed adults (16 years and older).
- The
golf professional has the discretion of limiting the number
of carts available for practice use.
- The
member assumes full responsibility for the misuse of golf
carts by the member, guests and children.
CARE
OF THE COURSE
- Rake
and smooth all bunkers after use.
- Repair
all ball marks on the green.
- Replace
all divots in the roughs.
- Fill
in divots in fairways with sand.
- Use
only designated areas for practice.
- Generally,
all play must begin on the first tee. However, there may
be times when the Golf Professional will be able to start
play elsewhere.
- Once
play has begun, all holes should be completed in sequence.
- Players
are expected to place all litter in the receptacles provided.
REPORTING
AND PENALTIES
It
is the responsibility of each member to observe all rules
and regulations including those not stated in this writing
but generally understood and practiced by players everywhere,
in the interest of sustaining the best course and playing
conditions. Forms are available from the Golf Pro Shop staff
for reporting violations. They must be signed and are kept
in the strictest confidence. After review by the Golf Committee,
penalties may be imposed, which in judgment by the Board
of Directors, are commensurate with the severity of the
infraction.
